Case studies
Queen Margaret’s School
Queen Margaret’s needed a large number of quality bunk beds for their students.
Working closely with the school, we created a stable and durable bed design that will last for years to come. We also created reception desks and office storage facilities to suit the school’s needs.
St. John’s Church
In 2007, Batty helped the church realise its dream – to build a centre for the benefit of the whole community.
Now a combined church and community centre, boasting a unique canteen area, bathroom facilities, two meeting rooms, bespoke staircases and large, modern windows. For disabled visitors, the complex features wheelchair access and meets all disability access regulations.
Not so long ago our church was nearing closure. With Batty’s help and enthusiasm the project was completed on time and budget. We now have a great future ahead of us.St. John’s Church
Scalby Lodge external joinery
Set in a wonderful location on the North Yorkshire coast, a group of traditional farm buildings have been refurbished into luxury holiday cottages on behalf of The Duchy of Lancaster.
The manufacture of the external joinery included the design of various traditional style windows to incorporate U-values of 1.4, below the Building Regulation standard of 1.6. The window styles included traditional box sliding sash, stormproof casement windows and Yorkshire sliders.

The Wilson Centre
As part of its £7m modernisation, Batty worked closely with the council and architect to create a contemporary space with bespoke reception desks, café, bar and public access to the internet.
Set deep in the heart of the city, this brand new centre is changing the way customers access council services.

NHS Humberside Memory Clinic
Designed to improve the patients’ conditions at the memory clinic.
Batty used outsourced artwork, bespoke hide-away furniture and sliding doors. The result is a space that’s visually exciting, welcoming and comfortable.
Anlaby House Estate
This Grade II listed mansion recently underwent a 5 star restoration and is now home to 12 luxury, high-spec apartments.
Combining historic period features with stylish, contemporary design. Restoration included complex curved sash windows, as well as over 30 traditional sash windows and various porch coverings.

The Mash
Also known as the maltings, a former Hull brewery building, the Mash recently underwent refurbishment and restoration work to bring it into the 21st century, accommodating city centre offices.
As well as manufacturing and supplying all of the windows to site, our specialist team painstakingly reproduced the cupola for the top of this Grade II listed building – a job that tested time, patience and skill.
