Privacy and cookies

This is the privacy and cookie text from the original site. It cites the Data Protection Act 1998 and has not been updated for later UK law.

Privacy

The page said information would be used lawfully, that using the site or emailing the company was consent to collection, use and transfer under that statement, and that details would not be disclosed to a third party without approval except as set out in the statement. It said unsolicited commercial email would not be sent without prior consent.

Cookies

The page explained session cookies, used while navigating, and persistent cookies, used to recognise a return visit. Session cookies go when the browser closes. Persistent cookies stay until deleted or until they expire.

Google Analytics was used to produce reports. Embedded YouTube, Flickr or share buttons could set third-party cookies the company did not control. Cookies were not used to collect personally identifiable information. Visitors could block cookies in the browser; the page used Internet Explorer’s Tools, Internet Options, Privacy slider as the example, and warned that blocking all cookies would hurt usability.
