CE marking

The CE mark tells the buyer that the product complies with the essential requirements of the relevant European harmonised standard, and can be placed on the market. It also covers traceability, the system used to prove conformity, technical specifications, and any third party involved.

Under the Construction Products Regulations, from 1 July 2013 it became compulsory for glazed windows, external doorsets and patio doorsets to be CE marked. The regulation requires the product to be traceable back to the manufacturer.

Products carrying the mark

Batty Joinery windows and external doorsets carry the CE mark. Product data is supplied as a Declaration of Performance, so similar products can be compared. The declaration is calculated and verified through an EU notified body. Each product also carries a label, on the product or the packaging, with the CE mark and a number that identifies the matching declaration.

The declarations listed on the site are on the windows CE marking page. The PDF files named there were not saved into this copy.
